IntelIntel doc reveals OEMs told about chip flaws on November 29 – reports

An internal Intel document has revealed that kit manufacturers were alerted to chip design flaws at the end of November under a strict confidentiality agreement. According to French tech publication LeMagIT, Intel planned to alert OEM customers on November 29 under a Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement. The site has published the first page of an 11-page document titled “Technical Advisory” from the Intel Product Security Incident Response Team, which deals with when to go public about the Spectre and Meltdown bugs. It reveals that the initial notification to OEM customers was planned for November 29, under NDA to “maintain confidentiality”. That’s about six months after the flaws were brought to Chipzilla’s attention by researchers. —
